The biggest advantage that bio energy fuel has is that it is converted from freely occurring combustible biomass some of which has been stated. The other key advantages of the fuel that will greatly and positively impact the household situation, is that it is:

• The fuel can also be grown.

Energy Forestry

The intentions behind the energy forest are the growing of fast growing tree-varieties that can be harvested from every year, and which are easy to handle and easily can be cut into small usable chips using a machete or simple tractor-equipment. Since the tree is only cut from the stem it provides the roots the opportunity to sprout new stems hence providing a permanent source of reusable energy forests.

The all round advantage is also that while the stems, twigs and small branches are used for the energy the leaves will act as fertilizer and the roots will still bind the soil and protect against soil-erosion

This concept of an energy forest is very good one for schools and other institutions that have the inherent ability to easily mobilize resources and manpower to plant an energy forest.
